No unbeaten teams and no winless teams. In our October 31 piece Memphis was the only unbeaten team at 5-0, and Brooklyn and Sacramento were 0-5. Since then Memphis won once more and then lost 135-134 at home to New Orleans on November 2, US time, to go 6-1. Sacramento won for the first time the same day, 115-100 at Dallas, and Brooklyn also picked up its first win in between, so both are 1-6. All 30 teams have now won at least once and lost at least once.

Every figure here is from the November 3 update in Korea. The NBA table is computed from game results supplied under a licensed data agreement (BALLDONTLIE). Of the 1,230 regular-season games, 107 are done, 26 more than the 81 in our last piece. Phoenix has played five games, Portland and Denver six, nineteen teams seven and eight teams eight, leaving 74 to 77 each. All fifteen games of November 2, US time, are final: Oklahoma City won 117-112 at Cleveland, Detroit won 124-91 at Charlotte, Atlanta won 108-104 at Indiana, New York beat Brooklyn 103-90, Washington won 103-94 at Orlando, Philadelphia beat Chicago 126-107, Sacramento won 115-100 at Dallas, New Orleans won 135-134 at Memphis, Minnesota beat Milwaukee 112-100, Houston beat Boston 109-93, San Antonio beat Utah 119-97, Portland won 118-110 at Denver, Golden State beat Phoenix 116-113, Toronto won 125-118 at the Clippers and the Lakers beat Miami 138-117. The Lakers' 138 was the highest score of the night and Detroit's 33-point margin the widest.

In the East, Philadelphia is first at 7-1, Detroit, level on top in our last piece, is second at 6-1 and Boston is third at 5-2. Toronto, Cleveland and Washington are level at 4-3 across fourth to sixth. Sixth is the last top-six place, and with Atlanta seventh at 4-4 the top-six line now runs between two different records. New York, 3-4, is eighth and Charlotte, 3-5, ninth. Miami and Orlando are level at 2-5 in tenth and eleventh, so the last play-in place is still split by a tie. Below them are Indiana at 2-6, then Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Chicago, level at 1-6 across thirteenth to fifteenth.

In the West the order is Houston (7-1), Memphis (6-1), Portland (5-1) and the Lakers (6-2). San Antonio and Oklahoma City are level at 5-2 in fifth and sixth and Minnesota and Golden State level at 5-3 in seventh and eighth, so the West's top-six line also runs between two different records. Dallas, 4-3, is ninth, Denver, 3-3, tenth and New Orleans, 3-4, eleventh. Phoenix, 1-4, is twelfth, and the Clippers, Utah and Sacramento are level at 1-6 across thirteenth to fifteenth. Teams on the same record are ordered by this site's table rules, such as point differential, which can differ from the league's official tiebreakers, so this piece does not say which tied team is ahead.

Nothing can be settled yet. In each conference places one to six go straight to the playoffs, seven to ten go to the play-in tournament and eleven and below are out. This site counts the top six and the top ten separately and gives a clinch number and a tragic number for each. Today Philadelphia and Houston, at 7-1, can still finish 7-75 by losing their last 74 games, and Sacramento and Chicago, at 1-6, can still finish 76-6 by winning their last 75. With five to eight of 82 games played, no team is shut out of any place and no team's place is guaranteed.

How to read this. The gaps in today's table are the size of one or two games. Teams that have played five games sit beside teams that have played eight, so read the wins and losses together with the games left. Each team's numbers appear on the magic numbers page once the arithmetic fixes a place; the top-six and play-in structure and today's matchups are on the playoff page, the conference tables on the standings page, results on the schedule page and the working on the methodology page. The what-if page lets you pick results and watch the order move. Team pages: Philadelphia, Houston, Memphis, Sacramento and Brooklyn.
