NBA standings 2026-27 week two: Rockets lose for the first time so the Grizzlies are the last unbeaten team, Nets and Kings still winless, and three 3-3 teams share 6th to 8th in the East

As of the October 31 update in Korea, 81 of the 1,230 regular-season games are done. Houston lost 116-111 at Dallas and Portland also lost for the first time, so Memphis at 5-0 is the only unbeaten team left. Brooklyn and Sacramento have lost all five of their games. Detroit and Philadelphia lead the East at 5-1; Memphis, Houston and Oklahoma City lead the West. No team has a clinch number or a tragic number yet, for either a top-six place or the play-in.

Three unbeaten teams became one. In our opening-week piece (as of October 29 in Korea) Houston at 5-0, Memphis at 4-0 and Portland at 3-0 had not lost. Two days later Houston has lost 116-111 at Dallas on October 30, US time, Portland is 3-1, and Memphis won again to stand alone at 5-0. At the other end New Orleans won for the first time to go 1-4, while Brooklyn and Sacramento are both 0-5.

Every figure here is from the October 31 update in Korea. From this update the NBA table is computed from game results supplied under a licensed data agreement (BALLDONTLIE). Of the 1,230 regular-season games, 30 teams times 82 divided by two, 81 are done. Portland and Phoenix have played four games, fourteen teams five and fourteen teams six, leaving 76 to 78 each. All ten games of October 30, US time, are final: Washington beat Charlotte 95-79, Boston beat Chicago 125-111, Detroit won 110-94 at Brooklyn, Philadelphia beat New York 98-93, Orlando won 121-114 at Toronto, Miami beat Indiana 145-125, Dallas beat Houston 116-111, Minnesota beat the Clippers 127-101, Golden State beat the Lakers 112-95 and Denver won 127-120 at Phoenix. Miami's 145 was the highest score of the night.

In the East, Detroit and Philadelphia are first and second at 5-1 and Boston is third at 4-1. Toronto and Cleveland are 3-2 in fourth and fifth, and Atlanta, Washington and Charlotte are level at 3-3 across sixth to eighth. Sixth is the last top-six place and seventh starts the play-in, so the top-six line currently runs between three teams with the same record. Orlando, 2-3, is ninth, and New York, Indiana and Miami are level at 2-4 across tenth to twelfth, so the last play-in place is also split by a tie. Below them are Milwaukee at 1-4, Chicago at 1-5 and Brooklyn at 0-5.

In the West the order is Memphis (5-0), Houston (5-1), Oklahoma City (4-1) and Portland (3-1). Minnesota, the Lakers and Dallas are level at 4-2 across fifth to seventh, so the West's top-six line also runs through a tie. San Antonio and Denver are 3-2 in eighth and ninth and Golden State is 3-3 in tenth. Phoenix, 1-3, is eleventh, New Orleans, the Clippers and Utah are level at 1-4 across twelfth to fourteenth, and Sacramento, 0-5, is fifteenth. Teams on the same record are ordered by this site's table rules, such as point differential, which can differ from the league's official tiebreakers, so this piece does not say which tied team is ahead.

Nothing can be settled yet. In each conference places one to six go straight to the playoffs, seven to ten go to the play-in tournament and eleven and below are out. This site counts the top six and the top ten separately and gives a clinch number and a tragic number for each. Today Memphis, at 5-0, can still finish 5-77 by losing its last 77 games, and Sacramento, at 0-5, can still finish 77-5 by winning its last 77. With four to six of 82 games played, no team is shut out of any place and no team's place is guaranteed.

How to read this. The gaps in today's table are the size of one or two games. Teams that have played four games sit beside teams that have played six, so read the wins and losses together with the games left. Each team's numbers appear on the magic numbers page once the arithmetic fixes a place; the top-six and play-in structure and today's matchups are on the playoff page, the conference tables on the standings page, results on the schedule page and the working on the methodology page. The what-if page lets you pick results and watch the order move. Team pages: Memphis, Houston, Detroit, Brooklyn and Sacramento.
