Inter beat Fiorentina 2-1 and Lazio beat Parma 2-1 on October 25, Korean time, so the two are level again, both on 22 points with seven wins and a draw from eight matches. Inter are top on goal difference, 23 scored and 10 conceded against Lazio's 16 and 5. Both can reach 112, so neither can be sure of finishing above the other: nobody has a title number, and neither of the two has a title tragic number. Roma and Milan have 29.

Everything here is as of the October 26 update. Eighty of the season's 380 matches are in, and all 20 clubs have played eight and have 30 left, worth up to 90 points each. The round ran from October 24 to October 26, Korean time, home side first: Torino 3-2 Monza, Como 2-0 Sassuolo and Cagliari 0-2 Bologna on the 24th, Inter 2-1 Fiorentina, Lazio 2-1 Parma, Napoli 3-3 Roma, Atalanta 4-4 Frosinone and Genoa 1-0 Venezia on the 25th, and Lecce 0-2 Juventus and Udinese 0-2 Milan on the 26th.

The top four line did not move. It sits one above the fourth highest ceiling among a club's rivals, and the highest ceiling below the top four is still Como's 107, after their 2-0 win over Sassuolo, so the line is 108. Inter's and Lazio's 22 plus 86, and Roma's and Milan's 18 plus 90, all come to it. What Inter and Lazio can still drop stays at 4. Roma's draw at Napoli took their margin from 2 to nothing, and Milan, who won 2-0 at Udinese, had nothing to spare before and still have none: for both, 90 of 90 means winning every match left. Roma are third on goal difference, 19 scored and 6 conceded against Milan's 16 and 7. All four are still unbeaten.

Our previous piece said Milan's 93 and Bologna's 93 were both every point left, so anything short of a win would end them. Both won. Milan's became 90 and Bologna's 87. Como, fifth on 17, have a top four tragic number of 30. Juventus won 2-0 at Lecce and moved up to seventh on 14, level with Frosinone, who drew 4-4 at Atalanta. Torino beat Monza 3-2 and are eighth on 13, above Cagliari on goal difference.

At the bottom, the total every safety number points at fell from 98 to 95. Three clubs go down, so the bar sits one above the third lowest ceiling, and the lowest are now Venezia on 93 and Udinese, Fiorentina and Parma on 94. Those three lost again, are on 4 points, and sit one below the bar with no safety number, but none of them has a relegation tragic number either. Venezia lost 1-0 at Genoa and are bottom on 3. Their relegation tragic number is 30, every match they have left, and still the only one in the league.

Genoa's win took them from 4 points to 7 and a ceiling of 97, two above the bar, so they now hold a safety number of 88. Monza lost at Torino but the lower bar left them a number, 91 before and 88 now. Bologna's 2-0 win at Cagliari took them to 8 points and a number of 87, level with Sassuolo. Sixteen clubs carry a safety number, from 73 for Inter and Lazio up to Monza's and Genoa's 88.

Nothing is clinched or eliminated, and every club can still finish anywhere from first to twentieth. Two rounds come next, and even after both the widest gap in the table can be 25 points, with 28 matches, 84 points, left for everyone. The midweek round runs from October 28 to October 30, Korean time: Sassuolo host Lazio and Roma host Cagliari on the 28th, and on the 29th Venezia host Inter, Milan host Bologna and Genoa host Juventus. The next weekend round starts on October 31, and Milan host Inter on November 1, the day Lazio host Cagliari. Roma's and Milan's 90s are every point left, so anything short of a win ends them.

How to read these numbers. A clinch number is the minimum a club must still collect for an outcome to be guaranteed even if every rival wins every remaining match. A tragic number is how many more defeats make an outcome impossible even if the club wins everything else. A reachable range is the highest and the lowest finish still arithmetically open. A rival who can only draw level still counts as a threat to a clinch, while a rival has to finish clearly above a club to eliminate it. Goal difference, head to head records and the league's tiebreakers are not part of the calculation. The table is at, the remaining fixtures at, the qualification and relegation rules at, every club's numbers at and the method at. Club pages: Inter, Lazio, Roma, Milan and Genoa.
