Bayern Munich and Dortmund are still level. They drew 2-2 in Munich on November 1, Korean time, so both have five wins and three draws and 18 points, and neither has lost. Bayern are top on goal difference, 27 scored and 8 conceded against Dortmund's 14 and 6. Both can reach 96, so neither has a title number and neither has a title tragic number. Freiburg are third on 16, and their title tragic number is 26.

Everything here is as of the November 2 update. Seventy-two of the season's 306 matches are in, and all 18 clubs have played eight and have 26 left, worth up to 78 points each. The round ran from October 31 to November 2, Korean time, home side first: Mönchengladbach 0-0 Paderborn, Augsburg 1-2 Freiburg, Schalke 0-2 RB Leipzig, Elversberg 4-1 Mainz, Werder Bremen 2-0 Hoffenheim and Leverkusen 2-4 Stuttgart on the 31st, Union Berlin 1-1 Köln and Bayern Munich 2-2 Dortmund on November 1, and Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 Hamburg on the 2nd.

The top four line did not move. It sits one above the fourth highest ceiling among a club's rivals, and the highest ceilings below the top three are still Leipzig's and Bremen's 93, after Leipzig won 2-0 at Schalke and Bremen beat Hoffenheim 2-0, so the line is 94. Bayern's and Dortmund's 18 plus 76 and Freiburg's 16 plus 78 all come to it. The draw cut what Bayern and Dortmund can still drop from 4 to 2. Freiburg had nothing to spare and still have none: 78 of 78 means winning every match left. Leipzig are fourth on 15, level with Bremen and ahead on goal difference, with a ceiling of 93, one short of the line, so neither has a number.

Our previous piece said Freiburg's and Leverkusen's 81s were every point left, so anything short of a win would end them. Freiburg won and their number is 78. Leverkusen lost 4-2 at home to Stuttgart, stay on 13 with a ceiling of 91, and no longer have a number. Their top four tragic number is 26, every match they have left, the same as Elversberg's after their 4-1 win over Mainz. Every club below Bremen has one, down to Mönchengladbach's 23.

At the bottom the Bundesliga relegates two clubs directly and the 16th plays a relegation play-off, so the line here is for avoiding automatic relegation, a top 16 finish, not for being safe. That total fell from 88 to 85. The two lowest ceilings are now Mönchengladbach's 82 and Schalke's 84. Schalke lost 2-0 at home to Leipzig, stay on 6 points, and now have a relegation tragic number of 26, every match they have left. Mönchengladbach drew 0-0 with Paderborn and are bottom on 4, and their relegation tragic number went from 27 to 26, still every match left. They are the only two clubs with one.

The lower bar gave two clubs a line. Stuttgart, who lost their 84 a week ago, won 4-2 at Leverkusen, are on 9 points with a ceiling of 87 and a line of 76. Union Berlin drew 1-1 with Köln and are 16th on 7, and their ceiling of 85 is exactly the bar, so their line of 78 is every point left. Paderborn's 80 and Hoffenheim's 79 are now 76, the same as the other clubs on 9. Six clubs, from Augsburg in tenth to Hamburg in 15th, are level on 9 points. Sixteen clubs carry a line, from 67 for Bayern and Dortmund up to Union's 78.

Nothing is clinched or eliminated, and every club can still finish anywhere from first to 18th. The next round cannot change that: after it the widest gap in the table can be 17 points, with 25 matches, 75 points, left for everyone. The round runs from November 7 to November 9, Korean time. On the 7th Mainz host Bayern Munich, Dortmund host Elversberg, Paderborn host Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig host Augsburg and Hamburg host Mönchengladbach. Stuttgart host Werder Bremen and Köln host Leverkusen on the 8th, and on the 9th Hoffenheim host Schalke and Freiburg host Union Berlin. Freiburg's and Union's 78s are both every point left, so a draw between them would end both unless the lines themselves come down.

How to read these numbers. A clinch number is the minimum a club must still collect for an outcome to be guaranteed even if every rival wins every remaining match. A tragic number is how many more defeats make an outcome impossible even if the club wins everything else. A reachable range is the highest and the lowest finish still arithmetically open. A rival who can only draw level still counts as a threat to a clinch, while a rival has to finish clearly above a club to eliminate it. Goal difference, head to head records and the league's tiebreakers are not part of the calculation. The table is at, the remaining fixtures at, the qualification and relegation rules at, every club's numbers at and the method at.
