Bayern Munich and Dortmund are still level. Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 on October 25, Korean time, and Bayern won 3-1 at Freiburg the next day, so both have five wins and two draws and 17 points. Bayern are top on goal difference, 25 scored and 6 conceded against Dortmund's 12 and 4. Both can reach 98, so neither has a title number and neither has a title tragic number. They meet in Munich on November 1.
Everything here is as of the October 26 update. Sixty-three of the season's 306 matches are in, and all 18 clubs have played seven and have 27 left, worth up to 81 points each. The round ran from October 24 to October 26, Korean time, home side first: Köln 0-0 Schalke, Mainz 2-3 Werder Bremen, Augsburg 1-1 Union Berlin, RB Leipzig 4-0 Elversberg, Paderborn 1-0 Hamburg and Stuttgart 2-3 Mönchengladbach on the 24th, Dortmund 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim 3-0 Leverkusen on the 25th, and Freiburg 1-3 Bayern Munich on the 26th.
The top four line fell from 95 to 94. It sits one above the fourth highest ceiling among a club's rivals. Mainz and Elversberg, whose 94s set the line a week ago, both lost, Mainz 3-2 at home to Bremen and Elversberg 4-0 at Leipzig, and are down to 91. The highest ceilings below the top four are now Leipzig's and Bremen's 93, both on 12 points after their wins. Bayern's and Dortmund's 17 plus 77 and Freiburg's and Leverkusen's 13 plus 81 all come to 94. What Bayern and Dortmund can still drop went from 3 to 4. Freiburg and Leverkusen both lost, kept their numbers, and their margins went from 2 to nothing: 81 of 81 means winning every match left.
At the bottom the Bundesliga relegates two clubs directly and the 16th plays a relegation play-off, so the line here is for avoiding automatic relegation, a top 16 finish, not for being safe. That total fell from 90 to 88. The two lowest ceilings are Mönchengladbach's 84 and the 87 shared by Stuttgart, Schalke and Union Berlin, all on 6 points. Stuttgart lost 3-2 at home to Mönchengladbach and lost the line of 84 they had. Schalke drew 0-0 at Köln and Union 1-1 at Augsburg, and neither has a line or a relegation tragic number.
Mönchengladbach had lost all six matches and were the only club without a point. The win in Stuttgart gave them 3. Their ceiling is 84, four short of the bar, and their relegation tragic number is still 27, every match they have left, and the only one in the league. Paderborn beat Hamburg 1-0, moved from 5 points to 8 and a ceiling of 89, one above the bar, and gained a line of 80. Hoffenheim beat Leverkusen 3-0, as our previous piece said they needed to keep their 84, and are tenth on 9 with a line of 79. Fourteen clubs carry a line, from 71 for Bayern and Dortmund up to the 80s of Köln, Paderborn and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Nothing is clinched or eliminated, and every club can still finish anywhere from first to 18th. The next round cannot change that: after it the widest gap in the table can be 17 points, with 26 matches, 78 points, left for everyone. The round runs from October 31 to November 2, Korean time. On the 31st Leverkusen host Stuttgart, Elversberg host Mainz, Mönchengladbach host Paderborn, Werder Bremen host Hoffenheim, Schalke host RB Leipzig and Augsburg host Freiburg. Bayern Munich host Dortmund on November 1, when Union Berlin host Köln, and Eintracht Frankfurt host Hamburg on the 2nd. Freiburg's and Leverkusen's 81s are every point left, so anything short of a win ends them.
How to read these numbers. A clinch number is the minimum a club must still collect for an outcome to be guaranteed even if every rival wins every remaining match. A tragic number is how many more defeats make an outcome impossible even if the club wins everything else. A reachable range is the highest and the lowest finish still arithmetically open. A rival who can only draw level still counts as a threat to a clinch, while a rival has to finish clearly above a club to eliminate it. Goal difference, head to head records and the league's tiebreakers are not part of the calculation. The table is at, the remaining fixtures at, the qualification and relegation rules at, every club's numbers at and the method at.
