🪜 Format & pool ranking criteria
- 1.Sixteen teams in four pools of four play a single round robin from 27 to 29 September — three matches each, best of five sets.
- 2.The top two in each pool (eight teams) reach the quarterfinals on 1 October; third and fourth (eight teams) play the 9th–16th classification from the same day.
- 3.Quarterfinal winners play the semifinals on 2 October and the bronze and gold medal matches on 3 October.
Pool ranking criteria, in order
- ①Matches won
- ②Match points — 3 for a 3-0 or 3-1 win (0 for the loser), 2 for a 3-2 win (1 for the loser)
- ③Set ratio (sets won ÷ sets lost)
- ④Points ratio (points won ÷ points lost) — not computed
- ⑤Result of the last match between the tied teams
The fourth criterion needs points per set, and the Naver feed only has set counts. Teams level on the first three criteria are therefore shown as a tie, not in an order, and "through" or "out" is only shown when it holds whichever way such ties fall. The fifth criterion comes after the fourth, so it is not used either.
Ranking criteria: the Pool standing procedure in Wikipedia's 'Volleyball at the 2026 Asian Games – Men's tournament', which cites Volleyball World's pool ranking criteria for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics — a secondary source, not this tournament's own regulations; the Asian Volleyball Confederation's tournament page has no rules text. Pools, schedule and results come from Naver Sports' Asian Games feed every 10 minutes, and the scenarios are computed from them automatically.
